Club Coordinator Job Description

The Club Coordinator has three primary responsibilities:

  1. To organize club: to help recruit counsellors and ensure that they are trained, to develop a club schedule, to make sure counsellors have the necessary materials and supplies, to ensure that the club operates smoothly, and to fulfil all membership/partnership requirements.

  2. To serve as an effective team leader: to foster warm, caring, supportive relationships among counsellors; to show counsellors how to have healthy and joy-filled relationships with girls and continuously encourage them to do so; to help maintain order and discipline in the club; to model for others what it means to walk closely with the Lord.

  3. To support parents and guardians: to provide clear and on-going communication with and encouragement to parents.

Club Coordinators follow these steps to accomplish the above:

  1. Pray regularly for the girls, counsellors, and the worldwide ministry of GEMS Girls' Clubs.
  2. Ensure your club meets regularly throughout the year. Contact girls or counsellors absent from club and encourage them.
  3. Keep accurate records so your club will receive needed supplies and materials.
  4. Recruit counsellors by inviting godly women to join the counsellor team.
  5. Conduct regular meetings with club leaders for the purpose of growing together as counsellors and sisters in Christ. Review the mission and vision of GEMS International periodically.
  6. Keep parents and your church leader informed throughout the year of your club's activities and invite them to visit and/or participate in club.
  7. Plan and organize GEMS Sunday with other counsellors and your church leader.Prepare girls to sing, recite Scripture, or present a short play to the congregation.
  8. Provide the GEMS International Service Centre with requested information and club updates.
  9. Stay in touch with regional GEMS leadership, if available in your area.
