GEMS & Church Leaders
Over the years, church leaders have voiced their appreciation for the GEMS Clubs in their churches. As a pastor, deacon, youth leader, or person involved in church leadership on some level, you may be looking to effectively speak into the lives of the youth in your community. Our programme can be a great way to start or maintain the youth ministry efforts in your church, or begin them. It is also a fitting opportunity for women and girls to join in your church’s vision. Often, we hear church leaders say that GEMS has proved to be a great side-door ministry, bringing parents into the church for the first time.
As a church leader, your role in GEMS Internationalis to provide oversight to the women in charge of club and keep them accountable to their club duties. It is also your responsibility to ensure that club leaders have the appropriate facilities, resources, and budget to maintain club.
At GEMS International, we have a tradition known as GEMS Sunday. It is one day in your church’s annual calendar that we ask you to assign to your GEMS Club. On a typical GEMS Sunday, club leaders and girls conduct a special programme in church, informing the congregation of what they have been learning and doing in club for the past year.
Consider starting a club or get involved in our ministry and experience the blessing GEMS can bring to your church and community.
